Default Am I gonna wreck my card??

I recently update my PC. I Have a 775 socket ASUS maximus Formula with 4 gbs ddr2. I put in a Q9650 and A radeon Sapphire 6870. Ive talked to a couple people that have told me that the card is gonna bottle neck and that it will ruin the card. Is this true??

I don't really see it as too much of a bottleneck at all other than an older platform. It should still net you good performance regardless.

And no, it will not effect your card whatsoever.

Just make sure you have a decent/good power supply for the system.

Yeah you won't damage the card itself if it's the bottle neck of the system, whomever told you that doesn't know there stuff. As mentioned above me though make sure you got a strong enough power supply to keep the card running nice and smooth.

well it depends. if you compare your game vs an i7 at low resolutions maybe, at higher resolutions your 6870 will make more difference the the cpu power before :)
