gpu advice

alright... i already order msi gtx 570 for 300cdn... so total is $739.18... :?

someone post http://www.pcvonline.com/ProductsList.aspx?search=6950 for 260cdn... so about $595.73

gtx 570 ~ hd 6970
gtx 570 oc > hd 6970 oc
gtx 570 ~ hd 6950 with 6970 bios
gtx 570 oc ? hd 6950 oc with 6970 bios (possible >)

gtx 570 sli < hd 6970 cf
gtx 570 sli < hd 6950 cf
gtx 570 sli oc ? hd 6970 cf oc (possible ~)
gtx 570 sli oc ? hd 6970 cf oc (possible >)
gtx 570 sli oc ? hd 6950 cf oc with 6970 bios (possible <)

disadvantage of hd 6950 is no physx, crappy warranty and full waterblock...

so your advice? keep msi gtx 570 or buy hd 6950 at ncix with PM from pcvonline?

btw i will use 27" or 30" ips lcd... at maximum resolution...

with shipping and tax to me :)

It was 313.53 - 2 day express ship to me. Thier inventory still says 8 so I'm not so sure its working. Remains to be seen whether its here by the end of the week and if they actually have 2 more to send you. Your in the lower mainland, If you stick with the 570 you could have it tomorrow from NCIX. I think you'd be happy either way but its probably easier to stick to the 570.

If I'm reading correctly you already have a 570?......if thats the case get a 2nd 570, especially if your running 27 - 30" Native Res....

i forget to add ... i bought two of msi gtx 570...

dangtx, you fried my brain... (2x 259.95) + 12% hst = 582.29 pick up at ncix store... if they accept PM... i am sure they will...

probably yes.. stick to gtx 570 make my life easier... but look at attracted price of hd 6950.. it save a couple of money...

so i wonder
- is that physx so important?
- is that company good? (of course, i will re-sell it within 2 years...)
- when is the waterblock of hd 6950 releasing?

_dangtx_ December 26, 2010 08:15 PM

Phsyx not so important... not many games use the technology.... but there are some... sadly... it needs to be used more!

if your game has it,yes.
i guess yes. warranty is important, of course. does it equal xfx? nope. asus? nope. giga? nope.
dont ask me lol

if it doesn't have a good warranty service... then how much failure rate? i never own ati card before...

if high failure rate then not worth to buy it...
