We never REALLY need to upgrade...
I agree 100%...

I mean the monumental performance jump good sir. Lets see a 5870 do tessellation.
Still, you make me want to upgrade from my HD5870!!!
At my rez (1680 X1050) I don't need to upgrade at all...at 1920 X 1080, maybe. Sometimes in BFBC2 everything maxed at 1680 X 1050 I get a little dip...A GTX580 and a 1080P LCD could be a nice upgrade!

Next year will be good, but for me there is so much to upgrade...going from 775 to Sandy or bulldozer, newer graphics cards, bigger monitor, dunno where to start...lolz good times!!!

My System Specs

I just got myself a 6950, coming from a 4890. I am playing on 1920 x 1200 and I definitely see a huge improvement, especially when games are maxed out out on highest details with AA and AF enabled.
get the 6950 or 570, whatever is cheaper on boxing day! ;-)

Going from a 4890 to 2x460 1gb was a pretty good upgrade. You will be happy with the 570
