What thermal paste for my GPU?

Well I'm gonna sell my GPU soon and buy a new one after the holidays. I'm just gonna have to clean (remove the dust) with those air spray cans before I can sell it. Plus I also want to put new thermal paste on it because I was tinkering around with it and it has a pretty crappy thermal paste job on there right now. Thought the person I sell it to should have it in nice working order

So I'm wondering what thermal paste would work best for the GPU? Apparently your not supposed to use a metallic thermal paste. Also, should I do a dot in the middle, or spread it around with a card?

Same here. Might not be the top performer, but it's just sooooo easy to use, and the large tubes last forever!!! ;)

that maybe the only reason i am still stuck on it i have my own private stash that only gets used for my pc's and it's a big tube lol

mx4 for me: noncapacitive, nonconductive, easy to spread.



IC7 while a good performer requires 50 psi of pressure for effective application. I have no way of measuring that and it sounds like an awful lot of pressure to apply to circuit board.

in a star pattern if it's a big die, a blob if it's small

don't even think to spread IC diamond

I loved the performance of the ic diamond, but I wasn't too keen on the abrasive effect it had on the lettering of my procs... couldn't read them any more.... ;)
