Plastic cover removal on GTX Hi, Does anyone know a good method to remove the plastic cover from the 8800GTX. Id like to clean the dust out the fan and heat-sink. cheers |

thought about it yea i was thinking of doing that...but id read that it doesnt get rid of all the mess. Ive got a dog and its hairs just seem to love the computer. Id also like to see what its like without the cover using my antec fancard on the "exposed" GTX. heatsink and fan |

yep just take out those screws. I accidentally took of the plastic cover instead of the whole cooler when trying to install my duorb. It will only take a minute. |
I HAVE 2 8800 gtx's and I have perminently removed the case covers... at first i took them off to clean them, and tried them in the computer too see how they worked.... it actually dropped the temps by 5-6 degrees...... http://pic18.picturetrail.com/VOL888.../275942809.jpg |
great Thanks for the tips. Couldn't get a screw driver to fit properly so will get one specially for this. Im looking forward to seeing an improvement. BTW frosty I was wondering what kind of "KO cards" you had from your case photo-never put two and two together:thumb: |
