Ugh, why would they possibly need to add this when the market is already saturated with the 768 and 1gb versions of this card with different performances.

How does the GTX 460 SE handle professional applications like various CAD and design programs?

It should be more than sufficient. I used a 9800 GX2and a 280 for CAD on a 40" LCD tv without any issues. Simply make sure you have plenty of ram, as more complex layouts can be a pain if moving along the page.

The core 2 socket 775 worked best with 8gbs of ram. Not sure how the core i7 works with only 6gbs tri channel. An extra set, or a 12gb set would likely work better.

The 560s are going to drop in price soon with the 600 series now being released.
