I figured most x2 vid card issues were fixed by now?
You can force AA in starcraft though. Mind you I have always found whomever's dual GPU cards to be somewhat tempermental.

yeah I know you can force it, but performance takes a huge hit. it AA's *everything* and in intense battles.. that gets pretty nasty. Like I said, there's no AA in Starcraft for a reason!

never seen it dip below 60, even in intense stuff, and that's max settings (only 1680x1050 though, no idea what you play at)

Again, thx for all the replies guys. I appreciate the feedback. When I bought my first 4870x2 I was playing on a 2408 WFP. @ 1920, the card would rip through pretty much anything out there. Except that I had a Q6600. Low and behold , the cpu was holding back the gpu significantly. I then took the plunge and went for a P6T v2 Deluxe + 920 + 6 Gb 1600.

Last year, mem express had the 4870x2 dirt cheap. (450$) lol, so I took the plunge and I bought a second one. Gains in Benchmarks test like 3D mark 06 were pretty big so I thought it would be phenomenal in game. Apart from older games performance was pretty deceiving .

Don't get me wrong, it's a great card. But now that I'm 2560X1600, it's hurting. I don't have any issues running anything at 1920X1200 tho. It's those extra pixels that are killing me.

I'll wait until I see a review of the 6970 then I'll make my decision I think.

I've gone from a single 4870X2 to a 580 and the difference in all titles is massive. About Metro 2033, I'm able to run it freely maxed out on 1080p.

1080p is only 1920X1080 tho :P but thx for the heads up. I don't know if I'll be able to wait until boxing day as I have to sell both the cards first before I can actually buy the GTX 580. And as far as video card goes, they lose value pretty fast.
