all the reviews show 40-80% scalability in crossfire for 6850s in this game, so the scalability is what i would call damn good.
I certainly wouldn't call the lower end of your numbers good at all....40% - 60% is not all that great, particularly the 40%...the upper end (80%) is what I expect from my Mult Card configs......huh....theirs some reason why your dipping so low on your Frames, shouldn't be with that Res but I know very little about those ATI Cards.....I still think an I7 Quad Core platform would see gains that your expecting to see (no slow downs).....

40% aint bad imo, but the gains with bfbc2 are way better than that.

shows like a 95% scaling.

AMD Radeon HD 6850 CrossFire Review - Page 4/25 | techPowerUp

100% scaling.

it has to be my CPU im imagining.

Either way, i've been looking to upgrade to i7 (for the hell of it really), and i'm seeing this on sale at ncix.

Before my i7 920 at 4.0Ghz I had a E8400 at 4.4Ghz and IMHO the e8400 is the issue for you in BF:BC2. My 470 SLI at 1920X1200 every setting at its highest in DX11 has no issue holding 60FPS and never dips below. I run vsync normally but with it off I avg 80-100 FPS... point is, in BC2 your CPU is the issue.

I think i5 should suffice. Also, from the benchmarks I've seen. The that CPU cooler is overpriced. Corsair A70 performs equally as well for less. The motherboard and RAM will be cheaper too.

The A70 performs better, but the 212+ is better on price/performance. Also, you'd need to buy another fan for the 212+ and the A70 looks better (black!).

for the extra price the a70 does not perform that much better, hell it performs poorly price/cooling potential vs a 23 dollar 212+

eh, cooler price doesnt matter to me, i've been looking, and i'm basically getting the cooler for free (pretty sure i am), and it comes with pretty good thermal grease as well.

Don't think i could beat a i7 930, aftermarket cooler with great grease for 300 plus tax and shipping.

Brian...stick to it, that is a great price....as for the Corsair 70 Cooler....in most cases a high end Air Cooler such s the Noctua, TRUE or Megahelms (sp) provide better cooling anyhow, especially when set-up in a push/pull config.....
