We know what a vapor-X look like, and you are not the first to run them in cross fire but it's the first time I heard a heat issue from the first card. 800D suck for air cooling, this case have been design ONLY for water cooling. Remove the side panel to get more air into the case because the air coming from the bottom is almost not moving and already hot while running in your video card. Or another good solution would be to add a Kama bay. Also few MM spacing between card is enough for them to take air. I think here the case is the issue or you have a defective GPU. If you want more spacing betweenc ard, put the second one in another PCI-e slot of the mobo. ( 8X or 4x ) will work fine, the second card will lost about 5-7% which wont make any difference in CF config.
