IMHO, the 6870 is a winner.
Nice one SKY. :thumb:
My friend Ramiro goes one step further with some voltmods. :bleh:
Anyway nice response to OC from HD 6850.
I showed people the review, and someone reached the conclusion that the 460 1gb is a better deal than the 6870. What's your take on that Sky?
IMHO, the 6850 appears to be the better deal.
Nice read. :thumb:
please change the pink graphes to something... its not readable (it took a while to focus)...
i assume... that hd6850 OC (180cdn) didn't beat (almost close to) hd6870 (240cdn)... and beat gtx 460 (150cdn) ...
The OC 6850 actually beat the FTW in a few instances.
In all honesty, the great majority of the results between the 6870 OC'd and the FTW OC'd are so close that IMO it would come down to availablility. The price looks to be around $10 - $15 premium for the FTW, but as a folder that'd be a premium I'd be willing to pay. At this price point, something like the FTW might be on my christmas list to replace the 275 in my main rig.
It'll be interesting to see what kind of clocks folks start getting out of reference clocked 460s vrs the premium OC versions. That'll let us know if there is much special binning going into the cards.
Any idea how far out Sapphire is from releasing their OC software SKYMTL?
Yay! I'm really happy to see the results of this OC fest. Well done article SKY, even if it is a little late :haha:
Glad my 460's hit 880+ on stock voltages. Makes me feel good about them :thumb:
