Oh and hi everyone! first timer here =P
I had an EVGA 1GB 460 reference EE and it got to the 850MHz core no problem with room to spare. It's pretty safe to say they all can just with increased noise and temperatures. My GB 460 almost OC's to 900MHz core and over 1000MHz on the memory. These cards are definitely champs in that regard.

great review as always sky! For me, Nvidia all the way! If the 460 holds its own against the new gen AMD card, well it makes me appreciate the 460s that much more.

The AMD cards look like a good step up, but after going xfire on a pr of 5970s and not being too happy with the results, it's back to Nvidia, which I never should've strayed from to begin with.

Can't wait for the 6950 and 6970...If the 6870 nips on the heels of the 470, then 69xx series have to be beastly.

I am sure they will be. As will NVIDIA's "mid life kicker".

Hmm....I'm thinking you guys might actually have a 580 on hand. Either way, we'll know by the end of the month which reigns supreme.

For the HD 6850? GPU-Z. Plus, I have three HD 6850s (one died during overclocking) and all of them perform within the norm.

Let's just say that the lead-up to the Christmas shopping season will be VERY interesting this year with great looking products coming from both camps.
