GTA 4 is just a poorly optomised game, it had performance issues from the beginning, its no fault of the 5970. Looking over it in MSI afterburner, it only uses an average of 55% GPU on my 5850 and prolly less on your 5970, lol i actually get more frames in Crysis maxed out :P Can't say the same about Red Faction and Dead Rising since I've never tried them, but being multi-plat games its probably more a case of crappy porting than anything else. Although it might also be a CPU bottleneck?

Yeah I agree that GTA 4 isn't a well done port. Uhh I dont really think that I could be bottlenecking due to my CPU because it isnt too bad so far. It is a q9550 overclocked to 4 ghz. In the Crysis Benchmark, I get 47 FPS on max settings and 16x or whatever is the max AA at 1900x1200, which I am assuming is normal for a 5970. So I am still a bit confused as to why GTA 4 and Dead Rising 2 act up on things like shadow effects/ (I had discovered that many ATI users not just 5970 users, are having FPS troubles with Red Faction, so it isn't only me).

Yup GTAIV is more poorly optimized than Crysis. Although with dual 480's I can run it maxed no problem now....

My previous card was a gtx 460 1gb, and I had no problems whatsoever with GTA 4. Maybe GTA 4 isn't that good with dual gpu's? Or ATI dual gpu's? Or just ATI cards in general?
