upgrade 5870 or wait ?
 

I have a Sapphire 5870 I was wondering if it's stupid move to upgrade. I was thinking of selling it. Should

I just wait and get another 5870 when prices drop or sell it now to get the most $$?? The new cards

No need to upgrade. The 6870 and 6850 perform slightly worse than the 5870, but they are cheaper. But the 69** series haven't been unveiled yet, and obviously they will out-perform the 5870, but I would assume the price being quite high. If I were you, I would stick with the 5870 for a while, and if you are really itching for a few extra FPS, just get another 5870.

The 5870 is still one of the top single GPU cards out there, no real reason to upgrade yet that I can see.

I would wait till the 69xx series comes out, give it some time on the shelves, and I bet my rig shop owners will sell their 5870s for 330~300$. CrossFire. Basically same as everyone said + 2cents.

I find a single 5870 inadequate for 1920 x 1200, but I plan to wait for the pricedrop and pick up a second, then just skip the 6xxx entirely.

I just got my 5870 lol, but i will definitely consider selling it if the 6970 delivers

well, if you up by 50% under the hood of the 6870 , or more, you may get something. interesting tdp though...
