Time to save for a new Video Card

I looking at saving up for a new XFX HD6870 Video card to replace my 9800 GT.

What do you guys think of that choice ?

That is quite the leap, I am wondering now what your other components are.

Sounds pretty good, a 9800GT is pretty dated now, its performance is somewhere close to a 4850, so you should be seeing a pretty huge performance increase with a 6870.

good choice, although id go for a 180 dollar 6850 and oc it to 6870 levels :)

I liked the Asus more.

What is the rest of your setup?

he has the system spec on the right filled out. :)
personally i'd upgrade the cpu to a decent core2duo/quad before i upgraded the video card.

well he is getting an E6700which will be quite on the oc menu, so he should be ok, especially if he plays at higher resolutions

Is it true that the 6850 and 6870 already hit their oc limit out of the box?
