They're now saying Nvidia is going to release a GTX 560 and 570 to compete with the new AMD cards. Personally, I doubt we'll be seeing such things anytime soon, unless Nvidia wants to take royal dump on their previous generation.

Just finished crunching the numbers for the OC review. Interesting results. Especially for the GTX 460 and HD 6850.

Stay tuned. It will likely go up tonight.

I'm assuming this is good news for those who purchased a 6850 and were concerned about the OC comparison to a 460.

Yes and no. At default voltage, the HD 6850 overclocks well, with additional voltage it will hit above 1GHz...but there isn't a publically available tool other than ASUS' SmartDoctor that can increase the voltage without resorting to BIOS editing.

Its been about 7 months since they released the 470 and 480 so its not all bad to see more powerful and better value cards within 9-10 months. Personally I'm glad there is so much momentum in the GPU industry. I just wish the PC games would uncouple from the consoles a bit faster or that they release some ultrapowerful next gen consoles to encourage game developers to step- up a bit.

from what i read so far the asus one seems to be the one to get for the 1ghz oc, would that be perhaps because of current software support? or because the card itself has something that sets it appart?
