My System Specs

Default 6 SERIES!

Alright, so what with my upcoming exams and all that I haven't really been keeping up with the latest vid card news, so I'm not sure if this is redundant news already (google doesn't seem to think so), but my friend linked me to this site:
Gigabyte Radeon HD6870 1GB [GV-R687D5-1GD] - $315.00 : PC Case Gear
where, if the link is hopefully still working, theres a 6870 on for sale, ETA 25/10/2010. Since I'm in Aus though the price is probably slightly inflated over what you would expect in Canada.

Haha anyway, just thought I should post it up, sorry if its dated news!

Why would the 5870 be more powerful than the 6870? They're the same x870 series, so I sure would hope that the 6870 is more powerful...otherwise we'd be going backward in time!

From a friend which is just testing it: overall HD6870 is a little slower than HD5870 OC Gigabyte (slower at medium and maximum FPS but better at minimum FPS).

from the 'rumours' one gets that a stock 6870 is slower than 5870. after all a 6870 is a midrange product, designed to name change..err..replace the 5770, i hear.

guess tonight's plethora of reviews should clear up the number game. also hope there was time for an oc session on our site's reviewer's part. because i hear they can clock a little bit ;)

Spot on.
My friend just told me that overall HD6870 compared with HD5870 OC from Gigabyte performs 5% lower, needs 15% less power consumption and will be at 35% lower price (of course our prices ).
But let's waiting for SKY opinions.
