Video card and sound card in pci-e

Hi there, I am not sure this is the best forum to post this question, but I think it should be appropriate.

I've recently built a new computer, with the
ASUS P7P55D-E as my motherboard. It has two pci slots, and I have it filled with a sound card and a wireless network card. There is not enough clearance between the pci slot which holds the network card and the pci-e slot where the 5850 goes, though, and so it blocks parts of the fan on the video card. I was wondering whether a pci-e sound card (or NIC) would have an impact in the performance of the video card. I hope it is clear what I'm trying to ask...

Thanks a lot!

no. but you can always move the 5850 in the other slot if it heats up so much

As I've filled both pci slots already, moving the video card itself wouldn't solve anything... :(
Therefore, the only thing I can think of is to get a pci-e card for either sound or wireless networking so that I can free up the pci slot.

get a 10 dollar usb wifi adapter. trendnet makes nice and cheap ones. they look like a dildo lol(what some girl i built a puter for said) but they get the jobbe done.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have already considered that before too, but it seems that a USB wireless adapter is just not as reliable..

Well anywho I guess I'll look some more!

Thanks

Video card and sound card in pci-e

A video card, video adapter, graphics accelerator card, display adapter, or graphics card is an expansion card whose function is to generate output images to a display. Many video cards offer added functions, such as accelerated rendering of 3D scenes and 2D graphics, video capture, TV-tuner adapter, MPEG-2/MPEG-4 decoding, FireWire, light pen, TV output, or the ability to connect multiple monitors multi-monitor.

whoever told you that usb wireless adapters arent reliable is prolly using the 10 dollar one. I've got 4 40 dollar trendnet mini usb wireless adapters running my computers in my shop, and I can assure you they are 110% perfectly reliable. they even out distance the one computer with the wireless pci adapter, so dont think you get shorted on the range either.
TRENDnet | Products | Wireless N Speed Adapters | TEW-649UB is the perticular model that i'm using.

the 10 dollar trendnet i mentioned is quite reliable, not so sure about other companies in the price spectrum :)
