I have to agree with Zero.

I disagree, the low end cards are all about your INTENDED use. Thi is a great HTPC card, sure, and I can see why Sky chose to focus on that. This isnt a gaming card, nor is the 56xx series, really. These are IGP replacements, HTPC cards, and very light gaming. Thats it.

And as to the "450 is better" comment from Lark, I felt the same about the 450 vs 460. I guess the point isnt so much "is X better" but rather just your maximum budget without going over. I would agree with you however that finding a used 98gt/260/etc would be a better buy...

Yes.

$40 is A LOT. Think about it this way. $40 added to a $200 isn't all that much. $40 added to an $80 card is a MASSIVE price increase for its intended market.

Are you using the same WU for all of your FAH GPU3 tests? If so, is that a 10632?

What's the issue with DDR5 HD 5550 cards? Can one even find HD 5550 DDR5 cards in Canada? If so, where?

For $80, what is the best/better choice out of?

HD 5550 (DDR5 version)
HD 5570 (is there a DDR5 ver.?)
GT 430
HD 5670 (some sales currently have it at $80*ish... although that's only momentarily? )

The answer to your question is extremely obvious. See if you can figure it out by yourself.

interesting. i see asus has omitted an sli connector. guess theres no need for that.

performance per watt is kinda sucky, same with performance per dollar .

but overall wattage numbers are nice for what it does, meaning displaying movies to your tv/lcd :). could be better, but hey.

nice review sky, fail product :p

Low-end cards don't have SLI connectors.

Bringing lossless audio to entry level is nice. It just lacks in the price point a bit. and noise level.

Which one? There's more than one question.

I included the HD 5670 only because it's a close price bracket at the moment but probably not for long. I probably shouldn't have included it in that bunch. I guess I'm mostly wondering between the comparable Nvidia and ATI cards. I would prefer a DDR5 card but I'll probably only get a budget, entry-level card when I'm ready to buy. I think I'll go with either Fermi or Evergreen but looking at $80-ish or whatever is around there at time of purchase. I'll upgrade later.

The third one. The other two are pretty inconsequential once you've answered that one.
