Personally, I would avoid anything that dumps the heat inside your case.

If you do not have the card yet (from your signature you dont have it) maybe wait for the HIS with the better cooler?

DuOrb. Even though it does bump the heat into your case, the 55nm core produces a fraction of the heat of other cards to begin with....

I have the card, it's a Palit HD3870 with the standard cooler.

I thought Babrbarossa had a point, especially since I have a Cosmos, aka a big dirty PC cookin' oven !

I'll see how far it can OC with stock cooling, and then reconsider. The Duorb looks great though, and performed very well in the HWC review !

There has to at least be a decent cooler out there with external exhaust.

IIRC, any cooler that fits the HD 2900 series will work w/ the HD 3800 series cards ... Don't quote me on that, though ...

NCIX has the accleero S1 on sale right now for $19. ($31 shipped). Get a yate loon fan ($4) with that and you are good to go. :D

I could swear I read on the NCIX forums that the Duorb wasn't enough for the 3800 series or the 8800gtx..

I have the duorb but it's on a 7900GS.. I do like it even though I find it to be the loudest thing in my P182 case which has 6 120mm fans running also.
