If you get lucky and find a HD5850 for around $160, definitely go for that.
I bought one almost half a year ago for $180 so i think prices should be lower now.

I had both the gtx460 and the 5850, the 5850 overclocks even better than the gtx460.
And at stock, 5850 beats the gtx460 anyways. (plus it has 1gb of ram, future proof)

According to Fudzilla, nope.

I wouldn't mind an ATI GPU but they're too slow with Folding@Home right now. OpenCL folding is coming soon, but we don't know what the results will be like yet.

Right so I ordered the ASUS GTX 460 768MB for $163 - $30 MIR taxes included, but now I see this deal. I think I'll cancel my ASUS order and pick up the Palit GTX 470 instead. I wonder how loud it is though... I know it's faster than the GTX 460, plus there's no rebates involved!

Not quite sure about Palit and there support here , however if the price is right go for it.
Unless you are doing something crazy the fan tends to stay pretty calm (referance at least).

Spent 4 days with the GTX 460 and loving it. However I lag in the big battles in SC2. Not enough VRAM is probably the problem....
