Well, there you go. It playing at higher res, you will do better with the higher memory card. Maybe I will do a quick comparison article between the two.....

That would be great if you could compare those two.

I am really wondering since Alpha is being sold about 30 dollars cheaper.

Question can I just turn the fan down with Ntune?

I just bought to of these puppies for a Christmas present for running in SLI. Since the cooling is so superior to the other cards reviewed, couldn't I just turn the fan down with Ntune to make them quieter?

I'm a noob about video cards.

Sure you could. But it would still speed up in 3D applications. You would need Rivatuner's custom fan speed profile but last I checked, Rivatuner wasn't compatible with the 8800GTS 512MB.

Hey just wondering if anyone can help me here.
I was looking at this card today at futureshop, since I need a replacement for my GeForce 6600.. but i was curious about one thing i didn't notice in the review..

If I'm running a single processor (AMD64 3200+) will a 450 Watt power supply suffice for this card?

Full specs are
-AMD64 3200+
-ModStream Power Supply, 450 W/OCZ 12 U
-Asus A8v-E mainboard (use onboard sound)
-1 gig RAM
-120 gig HD
-GF4 BFG 6600, 128 mb PCI-Express.

It's old but im gonna piece it back into shape

Hrm, well I feel really stupid. I went ahead and picked up the card..Double checked on my power supply handling it, which seems fine - but i cannot get my system started up with it. Old card still works.

Quite frustrating.. Not sure what the deal is. I tried hooking it up multiple times, and i can hear the card running (it is kinda loud) but my PC gives me a long beep with a shorter couple beeps (video error) while its booting up and won't load windows. Monitor is blank and just seems to hibernate automatically.

I'm not that savy with hardware but i didn't think one extra PCI-E cord would cause me this kind of trouble.. The cord that came with the card is too short (only about 4 1/2 inches). I have a 6 pin cord that reaches and can hook up to the 6 pin in the back of the power supply but im really not sure what the deal is... I'm stuck on this one

Hopefully i can figure this out!
