Did I misunderstood? Or nVidia cards now support audio trough HDMI? that would be really awesome... and give some hope to use it some day in a Linux HTPC..

They do. Though lossless audio is only supported on the GTS 450 and GTX 460 at this point. All other audio has been supported ever since NVIDIA cards have sported HDMI...though older cards needed an SPDIF cable attached.

How are they doing the audio SKYMTL? Is it being processed on the GPU, CPU, or has Nvidia started including an audio chip on their vid cards (like ATI)?

Pretty cool review, though nothing special. I'd say the best change would be the new installation method. I wonder if these drivers bring benefits to us G92 and G94 users...

Btw, mistake. Should say driver and not drives I think. It's on the last page.

Personally, I don’t think the performance increases are significant enough to make many people sit up and take notice. This is unfortunate since there is an underlying lesson to be learned by the few places where we did see higher framerates: NVIDIA is constantly improving and evolving their driver stack. With the lead times between new generation parts increasing by substantial amounts, drives have taken on an increasingly important role when it comes to keeping up with the times. As such, seeing steady performance growth in games like StarCraft II and AvP bodes extremely well for the future. Gamers who use 24” monitors will also learn to appreciate these new drivers since they offer some tantalizing boosts in certain situations.

The clean install option is the most exciting thing for me. I went out and bought drivercleaner just so I could be sure that nVidia drivers were completely cleaned. I upgrade cards so often that this will be really useful.

I'd say the ability to update ATI drivers through Steam is a bigger deal than this new installer. I updated my 5870 earlier, and the whole process took 5 minutes without me even having to reboot.

As I said in the leaked thread, for me this driver is the worst driver I've used in awhile.

We have been suspecting that very thing since the days of the rage 128 & the old site "Rage Underground"

In fact I labeled them "driver Monkeys" for that very reason.

It is good to know that their traditions continue right even up to the point in time when they are about to disappear.

I tried these and no matter what I do, I can't open the control panel. When I click on it,there is nothing opening. It's like the CP did not install. Am I doing it wrong? Help?
