Question Single slot bracket?

One of my clients wants to install a 8800GTS in a Dell case. The problem is that the dual slot bracket cannot be used - it's fouling against the case structure. And he wants to keep the original bracket intact, ie. not cut it and remove the vent section.

Any ideas where I could find a single slot replacement bracket for the 8800GTS (DVI-DVI-Svideo)?

Thanks,

John

I've seen these available at Dangerden and PPC, if that's what you're looking for. They're normally used with waterblocks, so if you're not WC-ing the card, I assume you'll do something about the heat evacuation?

Unless you go watercooling there is nothing you can do. All heatsinks for that video card will take up more space than the stock one does.

Thanks, that's exactly it. It's an air-cooled card in a Dell case. But I can't use the dual-slot bracket, since it is fouling with the case.

I'm not talking about the heatsink, it's the slot bracket fouling the case.

Doesn't the bracket help keep the air flowing outside the case and not inside tho?

But the second slot bracket is where the air exhausts from the heatsink and out of the case. Make sure you remove the slot cover from the case on the second slot.

The existing dual-slot bracket is removed, to allow the installation of the card; one of the upper blank slot bracket has been removed and replaced by a grilled one I had available.

That Dell desktop has the motherboard inverted, and the PCI-E slot is the very first one. Hot air exhaust is not a problem.

I got one with an NV Silencer. I'll see if I kept it or gave it to the person I sold the card with it to.
Maybe NCIX has them somewhere obscure on their website?

I have checked all my favorites and found nothing, except for the 2 sites mentionned in the 1st reply.
