Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 1 GB Graphics Card Review - X-bit labs

It makes me want to save up for one even if it is overkill. It sounds like a GTX 460 could be a HTPC/Gaming card for just over $200. I didn't really want to spend so much on a card, though. I was trying to make $100 be it, max. I have some other components to buy. I might just sit on the idea for a while and use my crappy X300SE card for now. Although, I have a few options to buy used cards but the GTX 460 would be relatively future proof being right up to date and not too bad temps wise and the power consumption isn't bad for a good performing card like that.

Plus the fact I'm also a Linux user, I can't go wrong choosing Nvidia. The Linux open source purists might think otherwise but I read of too many problems with ATI owners compared to ones who are satisfied.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestions. Feel free to add any more. It might help me make a decision...

My System Specs

I replaced an ailing 4870x2 with an Evga GTX 460 768mb card and it performs quite well. It's no x2, but it still gets the job done and two of them in SLi are quite fast...competing with CF 5870's: GTX 460 SLI vs. HD 5870 CFX @ 5760x1200 - GeForce GTX 460 SLI vs. Radeon HD 5870 CFX @ 5760 | [H]ard|OCP
