GPU Upgrade time

So, time to get rid of my 9800GX2, its showing its age.

Keeping in mind I am not going to upgrade my current board/CPU/RAM, whats the best bang for the buck?

My board will only do Xfire, so I am thinking 3 x 5770's?

Pretty much only playing BC2. 1080p Screen.

Thoughts?

Single GTX470, works great on my 24", and way cheaper that 3x 5770's. NCIX has the Zotac one on for $270 after MIR. http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...c&promoid=1088

I would either get a MSI 465 **Unlocked** by Linus or an EVGA GTX 470.

I find that the ATI drivers give the most problems with older games and some compatibility issues with some current games (BFBC2), with my 4850...

If you wish to wait a bit, i recommend a video card with the full GF104 core.

The unlocked 465 is actually more expensive than the 470 I linked. :)

The 470 seems like a good bet... especially at 270$!

The MSI GTX 465 unlocked is intriguing only because it comes with 3 games, metro 2033, just cause 2, and dark void/RE5/SF4.

If it isn't an urgent upgrade, ATI is releasing their 6000 series cards this fall I believe. Maybe wait and see what is just around the corner...

Yea, for upgrade, I want to gain Alot. Single card wont cut it for me.... I went from dual 8800GTX in SLI, then this 9800 GX2, so its time for most power out of about $450. Really, if you can find better results than 3 x 5770's in Bad Company 2, for under $450, I'm all ears. My board wont do SLI so I am kinda stuck with either a single nVidia card, or a crossfire setup.

since you waited, probably a good idea to wait till at least nv answers the ati refresh half way there coming cards :)

^^^ Yep your "limited" thats for sure...no Sli....bummer...what about a couple of 5850's......or single 480......
