Sounds like a good deal. I've done 3 RMA's with EVGA, all of which came back FedEx, no charges. You should be fine.

Thanks for the support.
I got a phone call from UPS tho...at the border in the direction from Canada to the States. Retarded. They were asking for what was in the box and where was it made...I'm like...hey, you've been hired to ship this. You got shipping labels all made up and pre-paid by EVGA, you know who hired you, and declarations were all made up like they always are by EVGA, and you must be dealing with that company on a daily basis......it's a freaking graphics card (computer part), it's a freaking RMA (do a one for one exchange of a defective lifetime-warrantied item for another one that works and it's probably made in Taiwan like every other piece of electronics out there...NOT IMPRESSED.

But hey, I've been warned by some of you guys...anyway, by the look at the tracking page, they were happy with the explanations...I deserve a good laugh...

Hmmmm... how many people put up with this crap? If this RMA is this problematic and you have to jump hurdles and go through obstacles to get an RMA accomplished, I wonder how many people just take the card they end up with or just say, he77 with it and buy a new card.

I guess there's a case to get a cheaper or older card and just hope it lasts 2+ years?

Delavan, it's good you stuck to your guns and let's hear some applause for the rest who didn't back down and tried to get a fair return or RMA done. That might help others in the future who have to do a RMA. If they know that customers know their cards and what's fair, they might be more careful what they send back? Yeah, right... but, you can hope!

Thanks dude.

I didn't wait and bought that HD5770 on sale for the kid...

But all-in-all, it still make me re-consider the whole "buy lifetime warranty only". Look at BFG...lol. Also, I'm having issues with EVGA products here..I had high expectations...The truth is that they'll always replace the card with one of the same PERFORMANCE...so basically if a $90 replacement card performs as much as your flagship card from 3 years ago, that what you're getting. On top of that, you pay for shipping to them.
Good enough if the replacement card LASTS...if not, the second shipment fee would make the whole RMA thing almost irrelevant.
They don't usually care that you payed $600 for let's say a 8800 ULTRA. There is a good chance that a GTS250 performs the same...So, unless you argue with them, you're getting the cheap 1 for 1 refurb...
I my situation, getting a G80 as replacement for a G80 is the downer...those G80 seem tired....too much folding? Hopefully, the Fermi GTX470 and 480 owners won't suffer from premature failures due to heat...remember the G80 was toasty when It came out too.

I can't wait to get that GTX260 core 216 (now a backup card), I've been lucky to get that and a free shipping tag..oh hold...my package is held at customs...lol...what a pain.

I can say that all phone conversations with eVGA, emails and tickets were answered quickly and they had a solution. so EVGA still rules...

END OF THE SAGA....

I finally received the 2nd replacement card (first replacement was a 8800GTS640 that died after a few days). EVGA shipped with FEDEX, which is really fast! No issues with "US customs" fees. Also, that GTX260 Core 216 that I got seems new. Nice upgrade!
It came in a white box, with eggshell-cardboard insert. The card was in a anti-static bag with the seal broke on it, but the "peel-able" plastic on the card is there, smells like new, no presence of dust whatsoever and no signs of PCI "insertion" so to speak...

Seems to be a new card....not bad as a replacement from a 8800GTS 640...well it took long enough that I bought a 5770.....now that GTX260 is a spare...

If there is a "resurgeance" of PhysX and it becomes REALLY relevant, I might use it along my 5870 for physX...MAYBE

sweet. now sell it fast, but test it properly first. and drop a little ink on what happened just in case it bites the dust and the buyer goes tots up
