Lol,

I opened a ticket with EVGA telling them I was requesting a free shipping label. They did send one! OUCH, it's with UPS , but I bought a XFX HD5770 to put into that computer. so whatever card EVGA sends me as a replacement will be used as a spare.

UPS included 3 copies of a "commercial invoice with a value of $299.99 for the card. Are you saying that I might get hit by some "customs" fees if I deal with them?

Also, the closest UPS drop off location is at least at a 25 minutes drive to get there...sucks.
Dunno, doesn't sound good. Especially if I get another 8800 POS after all that. Glad I bought a replacement card...I might just call it quits on that RMA...it's 25$ to send it ground with Canada post. i assume it's the cheapest around...

You wont pay anything to ship your card out...Its if it comes back via UPS and isnt marked as an RMA then you'll get dinged with Customs/Duty/Brokerage. Just refuse the package if that happens, but it shouldnt. EVGA is very good with marking packages as "Warranty Replacement/Repair".

I'd take the chance to mail it out and get a new card back. You might get lucky and get a 450! And if you call UPS, they should even pick it up from your door I believe, unless their policy has changed on this since the last time I did it.

I opened another ticket with eVGA, after sending my card in...I mentioned "baking" lolz..told them I didn't want to receive a "re-worked" card...and I didn't want to receive another G80-based card...
NICE, they are sending me a GTX260 core 216 (vanilla clocks, the 1255)! Nice replacement this time. Although I bought a 5770 because I couldn't wait for the family rig to be fixed, it will be a nice backup, OR

I could even bother to use it along my hd5870 for PhysX support IF more games start to use it.

lol,

$22 for sending the first card in. That's all. The second card is being sent using a free UPS shipping tag that EVGA provided me with after I complained..they even come to pick it up for me ( I take the risk to use UPS to ship to them...crossing fingers). I made sure there is a RMA sticker on the box I'm using to ship the defective card. EVGA will be shipping the card (896-P3-1255-AR) back to me using FEDEX INTL 3-5 days, with usual RMA stickers...

I'll go with that. If they end up hitting me with any kind of custom fees of some kind, I'll just refuse the package...but with FEDEX I didn't have issues/surprises last time...and it was kinda quick!

How does that sound? Do I take any big risks using UPS to ship-IN only? Especially with the RMA sticker I got on there? If there is fees I'll just refuse to take the card back...I'll just take the loss then...
