Exactly! I was just gonna say it used two different cpus so who knows what else is different in the system... hard drive? ram speeds? etc etc.

Thats a pretty weak test imho.

AMD is really getting it's shit together with crossfire. The RS780 will support hybrid crossfire and tossing in a second GPU will up your performance by 1.7X (this will be out in January)- I guarantee that the NVidia NVIDIA's MCP78 won't do that AND it will be delayed till March 2008.

I believe we are starting to see the fruit of cooperation between GPU ans CPU makers- meanwhile Intel and NVidia wrestle in the dust. While AMD's execution has not been stellar, they are none-the-less developing more elegant solutions that their competitors that are more forward-looking in many ways. I think that my next chipset will be an AMD in Feb 2008.

Not sure if this was posted already, but I've seen a review comparing HD 3870 CF and 8800GT SLI.

双卡火拼!HD3870 CF vs 8800GT SLI - 评测报告 - 超能网

The review shows that a single 8800GT outperforms a HD 3870, but a HD 3870 CF wins against 8800GT SLI.
