Well, I opted for the GTX480 on my order, but great to know this is possible on various 465's. I wonder how many others (other than the copper MSI's) are out there with high unlocking potential? Although it seems like a huge gamble given the purchase of a guaranteed 470 isn't much more, and nets you a MUCH higher performance than if you get stuck with a regular 465.

as for OP, i'd be grabbing two of those 465 and get Linus working on unlocking more of them. :)

PNY had a few batches that unlocked. It's all a matter of physically having the hardware on the card to unlock.

My 465/70 is fantastic.

i wonder how they go about it, less 465 stock or just do it so you get the fans up in arms about a certain product/company? :)

Try that again, and this time in English.

I wanted to go the 465 route, but seems like to much of a chance in getting a 10 chip card.

Ended up getting a 470, and this card runs Warhead on Very High like butter! Amazing, finally a card that has beaten Crysis!

Excuse my ignorance, but why buy an unlocked 465 when you can get a 470 for the basically same price?

Well, generally, GTX 465s are cheaper than 470s so a 465 that unlocks will save you the extra cash on buying a 470. If they are the same price, then most people would just opt to buy a 470.

Newegg.ca was selling the GTX 465 golden edition cards for $259.99 with free shipping and that was pretty much a steal for what is basically, a 470.
