Default XFX Radeon HD 5770 1GB Single Slot Review Comment Thread

There are countless HD 5770 cards on the market these days but there has been very little to distinguish one from another. XFX has decided to break with the pack and has released a single slot HD 5770 which should appeal to people looking for compact, well-heeled performance. In this review, we see if it can deliver....

very nice but where does the air go again?

looks amiss to me concept wise, for the exception of the slim profile cooler.

The air goes to the hard drive???

On a side note, XFX does email you an HDMI - DVI adapter if you ask them, for free too :)

If you have ANY proper airflow in your case, the minimum amount of heat coming from the card will not cause an issue at all.

How does it compare to a regular size 5770? More heat?

Same core and memory; same TDP.

For a htpc I think it's a good choice. For a main system, imho the 460 wins hands down. As mentioned, I don't believe thermals should be an issue provided you have decent airflow which is pretty much needed with newer cards anyway. Another great review SKY!!!

Good find I seriously never saw a small fan like that being silent? For sure these card are low power and perform cold but if the fan start spin around probably 40% it will probably makea little vaccum noise that would make me throw it out the window. Also, by knowing XFX for long, I think it's not a good idea to shrink the PCB and remove some thing on it, every single time they have done it the card always lose some quality. After people ask why they are cheaper on price...
