Still waiting for my Brackets n Backplates...to be quite honest, my 480's now run about 7C warmer than my old 280's....but perform incredibly!!

Just finished a "session" BBC2...ambient room Temp 22C
1920 x 1200 16XAA 32XCSAA
Max Temps reached with Fan Speed Manual 80% (Surround sound jacked up so Fan Sound is negligible)

Card #1 - 79C
Card #2 - 75C

FPS - never dip below 90 FPS & as high as 125 FPS

Very impressed with these cards indeed.....!!

^^^ Dropped the plan for WC at this point....Air seems just fine for these Cards....Tri Sli would certainly require Water, BUT really...at this point I see no need for a 3rd Card....Benching would be the only requirement for the 3rd Card...

....I would expect a drop of around 3-4C under load with new brackets....the additional 140mm Intake Fan in my side window provided excellent Temp regulation on the Cards..

These Cards are perfectly fine on Air ...provided your not trying to jam em into an old Antec 900 Case or some other "cheapo" Case.........I wonder how many of the Temp "complainers"...other than the ones that have only "read" something.....are trying to jam $1K worth of GPU's into a $90 Case.....excellent

i have the 480SC+, with ambient temps at around 26-27 C, the cards would idle at 50C & 46C. Using OCZ Freeze on them as well. Light windows usage would have it at 56 & 50 or so. while playing SC2, its in the low 80's iirc.

^^^ Mine are both OC'd to well beyond SC speeds (the Vanilla cards reach as high as 850 Core 2050 Memory...so saw no need to purchase SC Cards), BUT I NEVER use Auto Fan speed ....55% Manual for Web Browsing Temps Card #1 - 42C Card #2 - 40C ...then bump the Fan speed manually up to either 75% or 80% for gaming depending upon ambient room Temps......actually I have never used Auto Fan Control since my 8800GTX days ;)
