Default Time for an upgrade .. maybe?

Well I've had this Visiontek 4870x2 and XFX 4870x2 in CF for a while now. It was doing fine.. until I went up the 3008WFP.

What should I do? Sell the 4870x2's? upgrade to a GTX480 or wait till 104?

Ultimately I'd like to go with a 1 card solution. CF = insane amount of heat and poor scaling.

good idea to sell em till they still have some residual value in them :)

104 as gf104? two of those in sli will be as good or better than a gtx480, but dont think itll spank dual 4870x2's

I'm thinking GTX 495. My CF'ed 4870x2s have a hard time keeping up at 2560X1600. And I dont wanna spend more than 600-700$

itll be expensive, cheaper to get dual cards than one single pcb with dual gpus onboard :)
sli rules still aply be it on same pcb or not, altough its easier i guess with one card.

One thing I can honestly attest to, the Scaling with Sli 480's is incredible......as it was with my previous 280's..

i think i looked into it before..hmm..but is it the cards themselves or better drivers this time around that improve on the mentioned scalability? :)
anyway you look at it it doesnt make sense not to sli at the present moment :)

I know.. that's why I wanna get away from ATI. the performance gain with a second 4870x2 is.. well minimal.

Yea but I'm not looking for something that will match or not even in some cases, the performance of my 2 cards. I'm looking for something that will significantly increase my fps.

Current generation ATI cards scale very good as well. A lot of games have near perfect scaling.
