Default video card advice needed

my current system spec is :
Intel DX58SO
Intel core i7 920 @ 3.5ghz
mushkin ddr3 1600 6gbz
XFX ATI 5870 1gb reference model @ 900/1300
2x 500gb raid 0
corsair 750watt psu

i am not entirely sure what route to go ,
but i plan on playing ff14 and sc2 but i do enjoy having the settings maxed out
i play on a 24" screen
mind you the only game thats given me lag so far on max settings is medal of honor

i do want to throw in a 2nd card , but getting a 5850 is another 350+ or a 5870 is another 420+ atleast

but i do have the chance to sell my 5870 for 400$ right now
i was thinking bout buying 1 evga 460 1gb now and buying another one a few weeks later?

what you guys think i should do

if you're complaining with that video card, I'd just save up and crossfire/sli something in the future when you can. Im pretty sure you can max out SC2 with that card at least, not familiar with ff14's req's

isn't a 460 weaker then a 5870?

well the pro`s of selling and buyin the 460
since i do want to get another card
if i sold my 5870 i could buy a 460 and have 80$ towards another 460

buying another a 5870 is a bit to expensive
since 2 460`s in sli perform just as good or better then 2 5870`s in xfire

5850's will start popping up for very cheap pretty soon, 5870 should follow :)

I would anticipate some price drops pretty much across the board for ATI cards now that the 460 is messing up their fps/$ advantage in the mid-high end range cards.

You're dreaming! I got my XFX pricematched for $425, and you hope to get $400 second-hand?
It's sad to realise that the HD5870 is getting old and that you need more powa...

You either add a 5850/5870 (I agree that they're still expensive) or take the loss sell yours and get your GTX460s...I'd get the 1gb version with 256-wide bus...they're more expensive...

Seriously, keep the HD 5870. ATI will surely bring out some performance improvements for SC2 in upcoming drivers.
