GTX 460 vs GTX280 and overclock question

I bought the EVGA GTX460 768mb. Thanks for those who replied before.

The reason I got it: My GTX280 died (will RMA)

I'll try out the 460 when I get home, at work atm.

Just wondering, how will this GTX460 768mb compare to my old GTX280 (1GB) ?

Only for DX 9 / 10 though, since the 280 doesnt do DX11.


Also, the 460 I got is not overclocked.

I want to overclock it A LITTLE. Whats a low and safe overclock for this card ?

and oc it a little :)

i.e. till theres artifacts, back down a bit. old school, you know the drill. each card has a different potential, but from what i can see all the gtx 460's so far have decent headroom.
