I would guess they're going to offer you a GTS 250 or 9800GTX+, unless they have older stock lying around.

My guess is this is what they do with alot of their step-up material. What better way to use returned nearly 1 year old product? Hand it out for RMA's!

You'll probably get a GTS 250.

A 250 would be a disappointment in my opinion,i personally think it would be a lesser performance card.if anyone could find some benchmarks that could prove me wrong that would be great

It's basically the same card, you won't notice much of a performance decrease. If anything you should see decreased power consumption and an insignificant performance boost.

The OP is expecting a card that would have the same "standing" as the 8800 Ultra back in the day.
dunno what they'll give you, I think they go with comparable performance, not comparable pricing!

Hopefully, you weren't hoping for a GTX 460 to 480!
A GTX260 would be nice enough!

The gtx 250 would have a slight edge, and consume about 1/4 less the power. They both have 128:64 stream texture layout. The ultra however has 8 more raster units which allows for a higher bandwidth on the memory. It also however has a much lower all around clockspeed.

Its really a crap shoot. Maybe you'll get a core 216, who knows. Whatever it is, it'll be faster then what you have now. Beggars cant be choosers.
