Can 2 460s 1gb handle 2 Dell 30" screens no problem?

I am in the same boat. I am not sure i should get a gtx470 or 2x gtx 460's

or since it will be primarly for folding. should i get a gtx470 and a gtx 460

that way if i want to game i have a 470 and i can fold both of them

If you can afford it, get a 470 and a 460. But if it's between a 470 and two 460s, the pair of 460s will both perform better in games and produce more points while folding.

read the article on tomshardware, and basically said 2 460's is the way to go, unless you really do plan on going dual 480s. assuming your budget only allows for a single 480 (and never going to add a second one) then the dual 460 setup is the way to go.

A GTX470 does about 14k in PPD IIRC, while each GTX460 768 can easily do 10K. They (at least the Gigabyte one) is extremely quiet. I could almost have it run in my living room as an HTPC card while folding and not complain.
