who expert of X850 XT pci-express?

ok someone gotta explain me this. i just finally plug to psu after 4 years without plugging it. and now.... it smear and smutter! when i play soldier of fortune payback and combat arms the monitor is smere and smutter with shakyness and lines. desktop is fine... outside gaming is fine but when launch games it smear.

i reboot and plug out from psu and its fine. wtf? i thought not plugigng is dangerous and plugging is safe? its completely oppsoite! this is a strange phenomonal! someone explain!


athlon64 3200+, 2.75gb ram, X850 XT, xp home 32bit


to be clear im talking about the wire that connects to the card and other end to psu. ive been connecting to just the card and the other end left hanging ever since 2006 and been fine. now i plug the other end to psu and something gone wrong.

Since you never used that connector for so long your card could just be on the way out. What kind of PSU do you have?

dynex 400 watt

new less than 9 days:
antec earthwatts 380D green



if card on way out, damanged card can cause auto reboot? damanged card can negative impact overall machine?
