A 250 0r 460 are only $140 to $240 so wouldn't keeping the 2 275's in sli be better for folding , plus my 920 rig is fully watercooled already . I am just starting to learn about folding so I thought more horsepower would be better ,my new 980x rig will be my toy for gaming and such for now ,I want to start building it before the end of the summer

SLI makes no difference to folding. There's one client per GPU, whether they are connected or not. And I don't quite understand what you're trying to do here. First you say you're getting two 480s, now you're talking about keeping the 275s in SLI and getting a cheaper card for PhysX. What exactly are your complete upgrade plans?

Sorry , the 480's and Physx card will go into my new 980x build, My 920 build ( see my system spec) I wanted to use for folding when I learn more about it, as I said I know I won't get anywhere near what I have invested in the 920 if I sell it so I might as well put it to good use.

Why not just use both machines for folding? And if you want, you could even just upgrade your current i7 machine with a 980X, so you wouldn't need to put together an entirely new computer.

Well that wouldn't be much fun,(the folding idea is good though) They still won't let me go back to work after 3 brain surgerys in the last year so I gotta have something to do . Building new puters sounds like fun to me .

Mine was a small bump on the head and while I am now a grampa I'm still on the lower side of 50. What to decide ? knowing me it will probably end up 980x and tripple or quad 480's . I'm finding the case is the hardest decision.
