Oh you didn't receive an extra 1GB card? That's the model I was interested in. One of the main reasons being I might be able to reduce the temperature in my "office", I have 2 4890s and they do a nice job as heater replacements in the winter, not so nice during the summer.

Alternatively I could wait for the inevitable 5870 price drop..

Wow...you know nVidia did something right, if the Inq approves of their product:

This looks like insane value.
I might upgrade from a 5850 to SLI'd 460's lol

Wonder if my 650w PSU could handle it :S

Bingo. 1 Gig or bust!

I may hold out. This IS what I was waiting for...but the thoughts of a gtx260 core 216 (errr I mean gtx 460 core 384 ) in a few months are staying my hand.

Maybe they'll call the 384 core version the GTX 464?

was thinking the same. it should be another 10 pct faster. i think. as long as they dont overprice it, i.e. just replace eol current 460's ? itll be good.

crazy lol. even without adding juice these things clock like mad

which begs another questions....will undervolting work out good? why? well, if they can clock so well on stock juice, then lowering vid a bit will improve thermals while keeping stock frequencies

but when you cranck it up : http://images.anandtech.com/graphs/g...4503/23745.png

the difference becomes quite evident :)

Wow that is quite an improvement.. without voltage increase, and it runs cooler, uses less power than my current CF setup. Yay progression!

LOL

If I casual game at 1280X1024, would the GTX 460 768MB be a good upgrade for me? Or should I just go for a cheap 5770, despite being a folder?

Upgrading to a bigger monitor is doable, but then the current monitor I'm using would go to waste.

1280X1024 = facepalm unles you have no space on thine desk for a proper 24 incher :)

5770 is about 30-40 dolalrs cheaper, i think, eats less pwoer...but if youre a folder? theres really no choice lol.
