I second the DS3L mobo if you ever choose it. I have one and it performs flawlessly for the price.

Upgrading your motherboard will also improve your performance since your chipset isnt that great. And did you really hit 3.2GHZ stable with that board?

For what it's worth, it's a pretty good chipset, I find. Not all of us could afford migrating to PCIe and a new socket, including me so I can certainly appreciate delicacy of the matter, and the VIA chipset did its tasks quite well for around ninety dollars (at least it worked superbly for the 939 boards).

Exclamation ok?

i got my two decisions based on time unless u can find me a sli board for around $95

Newegg.com - ASUS P5N-E SLI LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
does this board have support for e6420? sli mode x8 also.
Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-N650SLI-DS4 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail sli but at only x8 (In SLI Mode, the two PCIE x16 slots can run at up to x8 respectively. In Normal Mode, only the first PCIE x 16 slot (PCIE_16_1) is available and can run at up to x16.)

and this one if u think I shouldn't sli with my current hardware Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

am i an idiot? is sli only in x8 when using both ports. or can it go to x16

ohand im getting an xfx 8800gt in mail right now:)

If you want to SLI, either Nforce 650i board will be fine. If you can find a good deal on a 680i LT board, go for it. I like the Asus boards, they have good chipset cooling. Either one will run your CPU, as well as quadcores. The P35 boards is a better overclocking choice, but alas, no SLI. Oh well, one card is pretty fast.
