Default 3 monitors + HDMI ?

I have a 5870 card with 3 monitors (2 DVI and 1 Display Port).
Is it possible to output on the HDMI port to a plasma in the next room for watching movies? I wouldn't need the other screens when doing this.
I'd hate to have to redo the display configuration every time I wanted to do this.
Is a second video card the best answer for this? (scary...I have no experience running more than 1 vid card!)

With 5000 series cards, you can actually output to three displays at the same time from a single card. You can use the Displayport output and either one DVI and one HDMI or both DVI outputs. If you only want to drive one monitor and your TV from the card, then you can certainly do that without a problem.
