Default Nivida geforce gtx 285 or ATI Radeon HD 5870?

Hello i am going to buy a new computer.

I cant really make a decision, if i should buy the gtx 285 or hd 5870?
ive seen that the HD 5870 is Directx 11 ready, or what you say, and gtx 285 is not.

The prize doesnt matter.

5870 hands down. the 285 is an older gen video card, slower and power hungry for the performance it delivers

GTX285 is last generation technology, can't hold a candle to the 5870 and well doesnt have DX11 either.

Another vote for the 5870 (Or a 5850, overclock it and it's almost a 5870 for a very fair bit cheaper)
The 5870 outperforms the 285, is much less power hungry and supports DX11, all for the same price.
Just if you weren't convinced .

The 5870 is considerably faster, considerably more power-efficient, and supports DX11. If you can afford a 5870, it would be silly to get a GTX 285 instead.

it shouldn't even be a choice between a 5870 and a 285.. it should be between a 5870 and a gtx 470.. if thats the general price range you're looking at.. if your going for efficiency and top peformance grab the ati or you can get the gtx 470 for less $$ and will only be 5% slower and sometimes even beats it the 5870, but it will run hot(it will raise the temp in a small room a couple of degrees lol..) but make the choice between two video cards of the same gen... if you can get a xfx 5870 i would say go for it(double lifetime warranty).. i have a evga 470 and i love it, really you can't go wrong they both kick ass. it just comes down to the $$$$...

Coming from a XFX 285 BE to a XFX 5870, I gained 30 FPS in BC2 with DX11 on, The card Spanks the 285 for a joke...

With that Said the 285 Will still play everything on the market, Just not DX 11
