Its been said many times......get away from Auto Fans...set up some manual profiles and try and keep your room cool...if your ambient room temp is 28 - 32c there going to run extra warm......right now my ambient temp in my room is 28c during the day....I don't game...wait until night time when it cools down......

Linus.....I have found 2 x 480's absolutely slaughter my old Tri SLi 280 set-up......around the same temps as well.....very happy with these Cards ;)

Demand an SSC version or something, or a free 450 with it, because that's just ridiculous.

you're still using the same psu right? might want to break out a multimeter and see if it spikes(well how much)

edit : because if that checks out fine, you either have bad luck with them 480's (much like sky and 5970's) or you got yours from a lesser batch. itll be interesting what they will replace the next one 12+ months down the road with

you pay 500 for your gpu, then a 'couple' years later a 200 or so gpu does more or less the same fps.

that or the drivers were screwing with fan profiles or more
I was like the guy buy it, run out, come back the card is not working I test it and DOA. Just a failure from Asus and EVGA on 2 of these. Things happen.

I wonder if the Fermi soldiers could start falling just like the G80s ...I think the only option with these is to buy with lifetime warranty!

Maybe 2 GTX460 in SLI could be a more interesting option in the long run (reliability wize)?
