Question What's a good P/S for a Radeon 4890?

Hi all,

I've been trying to upgrade my video card from a Radeon 1650SE to a Radeon 4890. I bought a 650w Power King P/S, but it turns out it's not powerful enough. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a power supply that would power a 4890?

System stats: Acer Aspire E380 with a Radeon 1650SE video card, and a Samsung SyncMaster 226BW monitor.

Also, there's another 2 gb of ddr2 ram, and it is running on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

What is your budget? I assume you're buying from Canadian retailers? Have a look at these options:

Newegg.ca - Antec NEO ECO 520C 520W Continuous Power ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply
Newegg.ca - SeaSonic SS-500ET Bronze 500W ATX12V v2.31 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Power Supplies

For the love of god, he's asking for suggestions. If he knew what a decent 400W PSU was then he wouldn't be here. I know you're trying to be helpful, but if you're going to post then at least give some examples.

Unhappy Still doesn't work

OK, I bought that Earthwatt 650w Antec power supply, but I'm getting the same thing. It still seems it is not getting enough power. This really sucks, I should have bought a more powerful power supply. It turns out this one is too weak. Very bad recommendation, I'm out $100 now.

It was not a bad recommendation, it is not a bad PSU, and you definitely have enough power. The problem is being caused by something else.

I agree with Zero, you have plenty of power. What exactly is your problem?
