I should mention I tried to do some research but all the ones I saw complained about not the greatest drivers at the time of the review for the 4870x2!

Thanks again for any input!

Also really curious what you guys feel is fair for purchasing a used 4870x2 thanks!

I'm seeing 4870x2's going for around $225-250 nowadays. Personally though, I'd take the 4870x2 over a GTX280. I know people are gonna say, "But it's two GPUs and some games won't work right without a crossfire profile, blah blah, etc, etc." I have absolutely zero issue with regards to that as ATI seems to be on the ball, aside from the L4D2 beta/demo.

I'd say the 4870X2 is a better bet than a GTX280 as well. I found 4870 in crossfire worked great with fantastic scaling across the 2 cards and no detectable microstutter.

The 4870X2 makes an excellent space heater. An overclocked 5850 can out perform one. I'd pay $200 tops. If your a folder, take the 280.

4870x2. Unless F@H is a big priority to you. Much more fps for your dollar. The heat shouldnt be much of a problem in a properly ventilated case which I assume you have.

The 4870x2 is a great card but hot, and noisy compared to the 280. Go with what ever is cheaper. Although don't spend too much on them as they both are not that good compared to the newer cards.
