Default Keep 470 SLI or GTX480

Currently have 2 MSI 470's working very very nicely and an MSI GTX480. The MSI GTX480 was for my brother although hes run into some money issues.

Basically I have to choose to sell the GTX480 or both 470's.

I have EK waterblocks for all the but have not fitted them yet.

I'm thinking that I may be best off selling the 470's (not yet registered) and just oc the 480 for now-may get another later in the year. Alternatively I could sell the 480 (BNIB sealed). What would you do?

BTW I have a 24inch monitor.

Benchmarks would tell you!
If you're gaming much, depending on games...

Power draw of 2 X 470s versus one GTX480...

Dunno too much about watercooling, but it might be hard to sell the watercooling stuff, unless you sell it here on this forum.

yes, keep one furnace, sell the others. although the sli pair will net you quite higher numbers and make everything 1920x1080 playable.and more.

Well seems like a few vote keep the GTX480 which is what Im leaning slightly towards.

I have to say Delevan the scaling with SLI 470's is incredible and the 2 470's are quite a bit more powerful than the GTX 480. But I can always add an extra 480 in the future and 1 480 will do for now in games.

Also the 470's run well on a 750watt silencer-bought a TX 950 but had to RMA as my MB did not like it at all.

I'm not sure what would be easier to sell without losing too much- 2 470's or 1 480.
Anyway the EK blocks shouldnt be too hard to shift here at a good price. I guess Ill try to make my mind up soon

Well if you plan on going 480 SLI than sell the 470's. You should be able to get impressive over clocks with a water cooled 480.

It seems more logical to keep the SLI GTX470s assuming they offer more performance and SLI works as intended. Then you won't need to invest any additional money to play the latest games at max settings.

The GTX480 + waterblock should be a fairly easy sale. Not sure how many people chose the GTX470 over ATI cards though, so I'd say that's a harder sell.

Performance wise SLI scales better than single card.. Cooling wise, it is much easier to water cool a single video card over a dual. Nowadays cooling a dual card setup is getting quite simpler too, but remember 2 cards = more heat = need more cooling..

I also agree with jdrom's comment ^^ it is gonna be hard to sell those GTX470s. What you could also try is, sell both the 2 X GTX470s and the 480 at the same time, and then whichever sells quicker and for better value, you always have the option of keeping something you have for sale.
