Installed maze4 no prob, and checked the chips, Qimonda in the Sapphire.

Had some issues getting riva or ati tool to work properly so ran a quick test with catalyst. Funny I get double score as 7800GTX.

Did you update the BIOS to the one with the upped core voltage or is your card able to OC like that out of the box.

And the Hotfixes I was refering to are the new ones for Crossfire / SLI support in Vista and the ATI Crysis hotfix if you play that game.

Is a 3870 card able to crossfire with a 3850 card? Just wondering.

Also does the game itself have to have some kind of built in support for crossfire to work?

Clocks fine out of the box, I just need to figure out how to get ATItool or riva to work. I guess it screws it up if you enable overdrive in catalyst and now even if I uninstall catalyst overdrive stays enabled when i reinstall. Any idea where the reg entry would be? Anyone else have this problem?

Ill install Denny's bios or similar once I get these tools working.

Making some ground, but I seem to be stuck at 769 core. I am going to mess with pci-e to see if this is this "lock" everyone is talking about or if I can surpass 770.

Would the 1600x1200 resolution give similar benchmarks to the 1680x1050 resolution?

In your World In Conflict benchmark, for the medium quality, you have 38fps average. When I did mine I get 42fps average (in the 1680x1050 resolution).

I have an AMD x2 5000+ (overclocked to 3.0ghz), and a 3870. I would have thought your cpu in the review would be a lot faster than mine. Unless its the resolution? Or maybe newer drivers improved the benchmark? (I am using the 7.12 drivers)

I have been using the 7.12 drivers and I have seen some pretty large gains in WiC. YOu have to also remember that my numbers are the average after 4 consecutive benchmark runs with the in-game benchmarking tool.

Look at it like this:

1600x1200 = 1,920,000 pixles
1680x1050 = 1,764,000 pixels

So we are looking at about 8% more pixels which will have an impact on performance as well.

Also, which patch are you using for WiC?

I didn't install any other updates to the game, I ran the benchmark they have in the graphic options section.

I seem to get the same 42fps each time. Although I think I got that also at the 1280 resolution.

I'm a fool :) For some reason I was thinking you had this on the medium settings. Apparently its the highest graphic setting(very high)? If so, then I only get 30fps.

EDIT: I think they did improve the performance though.
