Great review to read through on a Monday morning, very good work. If it were $225-250, it'd be rather attractive, but not at this price point.

I agree that Crysis isn't the benchmark to be using nowadays, it should be Metro 2033 or something that makes use of DX11 significantly.

I honestly don't see that much use in new fancy AA methods considering most cards have enough trouble producing playable framerates in recent games without it.

I agree. However, I love taking out my old games every now and then and that's where the new AA modes really come into play. There's nothing like using SSAA in Homeworld, the original Dawn of War, Half Life Ep 2 or even SimCity 4.

This does not look good for Nvidia. Bad day for competition and price drops.

folding wise, shader speed is still king i believe. on a card with massive amounts you can probably throw a few clients and see what gives :)

this card should be at 199 or so. that will sell like hot..bread or whatever's called. even with more heat and possibly power consumption of a 5870 people wont care if they think they can get close to gtx 470 speeds if they oc.

was thinking, if you take a 5770 and you oc it like mad...hmm.....vs this card..? :)

Playing CS:S with 64xAA and 16xtransparency AA. Doesn't really increase the visual quality by much but cuts the performance by a lot. Talk about have near 300 FPS in performance down to a bit more than 60FPS lol. Yes I loves my AA.

IMO, the price for this card should have been ~$240 at $260 NOT $280.

20 bucks wont make such a difference.

199 or below make it a killer deal a la ti4200

i wonder what the cost is on a unit...150? 200?

Disappointing. I guess my dreams of RMAing my GTX 260 for something good have been dashed for the current generation. Back to the back of my drawer for at least another year.
