Eek. Yeah performance is definitely lacking. Maybe a driver revision or two will help but man the 5850 is such a better deal!

Sweet review. I like to read the reviews in this market segment. This is the price point where I buy my cards at.

Not all of them.

At this point itís impossible to recommend the GeForce GTX 465 for the average buyer. The extra $20 for a Radeon HD 5850 will buy a card that is cooler, quieter, and appropriately faster.

However the culprit today at launch will be its price. For this product to be sold like hot buns from the oven, it will need to drop below the 250 USD/EUR marker.

Personally I find NVIDIA's price point of $279 a bit high, something like $249 or $229 would have been more appealing to many users who are torn between ATI and NVIDIA now.

NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 465 is a welcome addition to the high-end graphics-card sector. We reckon retail cards will make real sense once super-clocked models are released at sub-£250.

As for the current market situation, there is no reason why you may want to buy a GeForce GTX 465. If you donít have much more money, you can add $20 and purchase a Radeon HD 5850 which is faster.

With Radeon HD 5850s available at $289, just $10 more, thatís unquestionably the route weíd take today.

Well...as expected the review from sky are still perfect and a pleasure to read. Congrat's Sky and stay the perfect reviewer you are! For the product now. FX 5000 IS BACK!!! FEAR IT FEAR IT!!! No seriously, Same cost, more need, less performance, there is no point in bying this card. Ho yeah it as phisyx, ho wait we don't give a f***:) Nvidia is in serious trouble right now and they can't bring ( with Fermi ) good card at good price. If they continue to go down in price more manufacturer will leave the boat so they have to find a solution faster then we think. Which is NOW.

Actually, the most interesting feature to me is the TMAA and SSAA but that's just me with my newfound appreciation for ridiculous levels of AA....

Just spent ~45mins looking for some concrete folding numbers but found none. Same core speeds as the 470, so it will be interesting to see the effects the reduced 'shader' units have on the folding performance. I'm guessing ~9000-10,000PPD

I see the price of this card falling; OK in certain situations, but for the most part for gamers I would go ATI unless I were an nVidia fan-boy. Hopefully folding PPD is high, and folders can still benefit from the competition in this gaming segment.

not really impressed, and the superclocked edition even less so. 20$ for 2fps or less in most cases it seems.

Nice review SKY! Not the same comments for the card though...

BTW, why no Crysis Warhead Benchmarks?

I don't feel like Warhead has much relevance anymore considering the obvious coding issues in the game which hold back performance of GPUs. I would use one of the mods but I can't even begin to imagine the furor that would cause. Crysis in general used to be the benchmark all cards were measured by. Now, it is: "Can it play Metro 2033". ;)
