Default ASUS HD 5870 Matrix Platinum Review Comment Thread

With Gigabyte, MSI and Sapphire all releasing high-end, pre-overclocked HD 5870 cards, it was only a matter of time until ASUS joined in on the party. Released under the Republic of Gamers series, their HD 5870 Matrix comes in two flavors: a base model with a boatload of features and a Platinum Edition that adds an overclocked core into the mix. In this review we take a look at the flagship Platinum card and find out if its asking price of $500 is justified.

Just curious to why some of the reviews do not include "under the heatsink" sections anymore. I would love to see some components in some of these premium cards

Wow, I love the look of this card. Not only does it perform well it is also very pleasing to the eye (IMO). So far this is the best looking card I have ever seen. I think my PC needs a new GPU...

Look is nice, performance is decent but I am still wondering why they remove a DVI...That's stupid IMO. Good card with killer look indeed.

Why is the removal of a DVI stupid when next to no one uses two DVI ports anyways? Plus, they include an adaptor.
